Calliope: Record Design
I set out to accomplish packaging design for a vinyl comprised of my own blackout poetry—instead of songs. I was inspired by the name “Calliope,” the muse of poetry and song, and used it as the album title.

Calliope is based on the idea of “Dignity & Distress.” I was inspired by Pride and Prejudice because I ironically use this book with themes of traditional white hierarchy to do my deconstructed-inspired collages, so this became my chosen source for writing blackout poetry.

I am challenging not necessarily Jane Austen, but the traditional views of her time, and allowing for deconstructed ideas to challenge those oppressive value systems in our history.

Key attributes: grunge texture, 90's deconstruction, & gothic (moody/dark, opulent, & architecturally inspired)
